PROVO — It’s a long way out, but BYU football added an opponent from the Atlantic Coast Conference to its future schedule Monday.

The Cougars announced a home-and-home scheduling agreement with North Carolina State on Monday, bringing the Wolfpack to Provo on Aug. 29, 2030.

BYU will play at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Nov. 9, 2024, a key late-season game against a Power 5 opponent that the Cougars have struggled to schedule since launching into independence in 2011.

“I really like this home-and-home series with NC State,” BYU athletic director Tom Holmoe said in a statement. “The game in Raleigh provides a unique late-season travel opportunity for our football program, and it’s great to bring another ACC opponent to Provo.

The series marks the first-ever game for the Cougars against North Carolina State, which has played football since 1892. BYU has never played an ACC opponent in the state of North Carolina in football.

The Cougars’ 2024 schedule also includes home games against Hawaii and Georgia Southern on Sept. 14, and Oct. 12, respectively, and a similar road trip to East Carolina on Oct. 19.

In 2030, BYU will also host Virginia Tech on Sept. 14.

Kickoff times and broadcast information will be announced closer to the scheduled dates.
