PROVO, Utah – BYU football coach Kalani Sitake is doing his part to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
Sitake starred in the latest ‘In Utah’ PSA campaign to give friendly reminders on staying safe during this pandemic.
As part of the state’s ‘In Utah’ campaign, this PSA from Brigham Young University football coach, Kalani Sitake, talks about maintaining 6-feet of physical distance to help slow the spread of COVID-19, maintaining a safe community and supporting a healthy economy. #HealthyInUtah pic.twitter.com/XzdMCndJBG

“In football, two yards can make all the difference in keeping the play alive. Two yards. Just six simple feet can also make all the difference in slowing the spread of COVID-19,” said Sitake in the video. “Practicing physical distancing push towards our ultimate goal, a safe community, and a healthy economy.”
The ‘In Utah’ campaign was introduced last month by Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
“‘In Utah’ encourages Utahns to embrace healthy habits while practicing appropriate measures to slow the spread of COVID-19,” the GOED said in a press release. “It also encourages Utahns to shop, dine, stay, work, film and play, ‘In Utah.’”
The GOED Executive Director who led the ‘In Utah’ campaign was former BYU athletic director Val Hale. Hale was BYU’s director of athletics from 2000-2004.
Kalani Sitake and his BYU football program begin fall camp practices on Tuesday. Since June 1st, BYU players have been receiving temperature checks and testing to help slow the spread of COVID-19 to avoid any potential outbreaks.
