That was the case on Monday as players reported to camp and were greeted with a fresh gear given to them by equipment manager Mick Hill.

All of the apparel and swag BYU receives is from the sports apparel giant Nike. The Cougars have been a Nike school dating back to the 1970s and the iconic swoosh has donned BYU’s football jerseys since 1996.

Kalani Sitake has always been a big proponent of getting his players as much as gear as the NCAA will allow him to give. BYU has stepped up its game by providing more gear and apparel to players in recent years. Last year, players received swag bags at multiple points of the season that included the first week of camp, the first week of the season, midway point, and bowl season.

Report day and the gear being distributed brought a little bit of normalcy to an off-season that has been everything but normal. BYU begins Fall Camp practices on Tuesday amid a cloud of uncertainty surrounding the season due to COVID-19. The Cougars currently have six games on their 2020 schedule with five of those matchups against teams from leagues that have yet to decide on their league schedules for the fall.
BYU is actively pursuing matchups to potentially add to their 2020 schedule for the fall.
